Don brings over 30 years of various Insurance Industry experience including Auto & Home, Life, Health, Group, Commercial, as well as Agency Management

• Don started his career in April 1972 as a Life Insurance Representative for Nationwide Life Insurance Company.
  
  
• In October 1972, he was invited to join the Nationwide Group, parent organization to Nationwide Life where he became a full time employee to Nationwide and was licensed to sell all of their Property and Casualty Insurance Products.
  
  
• In 1976, Don became an Independent Contractor for Nationwide. He acquired the Charles Williams Agency that served the New Castle, PA community for over 35 years. For the next 10 years, he further developed the agency offering all product and coverage lines offered by Nationwide Insurance. At the same time, Don developed a unique background in Commercial Lines Insurance that utilized not only the Nationwide Products, but also Broker access to various Specialty Insurance Markets as well.
  
  
• In January 1987, Don left the Nationwide Agency business to pursue an opportunity to further his expertise as a Commercial Lines Specialist. Joining up with a very large Independent Insurance Agency, Don headed up a newly formed Transportation Insurance Unit and at the same time broadened his focus on businesses that were faced with more complex Insurance needs such as Truckers and Environmental Companies. He developed relationships not only with clients, but a large host of Insurance Companies as well.
  
  
• In March 1991, Don following the lead of his wife Susan, founded Susan McConnell & Associates and moved his operations to her office location in New Castle, PA. Don managed the Property and Casualty operation, while Susan managed the Life, Health and Group side of the business. Their daughter, Amy joined the business part-time while attending college and then made it a career after graduation. Amy rounded out the agency by managing the Personal Lines Department and in 2001 bought another local personal lines insurance agency and moved her operations to another location across town.
  
  
• Don further developed the Commercial Insurance Department to include more specialty products and services to meet the increasing needs of his client base. His expertise now includes Aircraft and Railcar Transportation Coverages.
  
  
• In July 2004, Don, Susan and Amy once again joined forces by combining the office operations of Susan McConnell & Associates and M & M Insurance Group in one central location in New Castle, PA.
  
  
• The McConnell family now operates the only true "Full Service Insurance Agency" in the area.
