Angela Bankston

Title:  Life, Health & Group Department Manager

Experience:  I was recruited into the insurance business by Susan McConnell & Associates in January of 2002.  In 2004, Susan McConnell & Associates merged with M&M Insurance and I came along for the ride.  I provide support to our clients that have individual Life and/or Health Insurance, but primarily work with the Employers in Lawrence County, helping them provide Group Benefits to their employees.  I also oversee the day to day operations of the Life, Health & Group Department.

Family:  I married my husband, Jim Bankston in 2003.  We do not have children of our own, but have many nieces and nephews that we enjoy borrowing from time to time.  Jimmy and I spend most of our time together laughing at our two cats, Sam and Olive.

Designations/Achievments:  I currently hold 2 licenses that allow me to sell Auto, Home, Life, Health, Accident and Fixed Annuities.  I have my CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) designation and I am working on obtaining my CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation.

Special Interests:  I love to watch my nephew Devan play baseball in the summer and I love watching the Steelers play football in the fall.  I love eating dessert, especially chocolate desserts.  I love reading and walking, but mostly I enjoy spending time with my husband and our family and friends.

Typical Day of Work?     Most of my day is spent educating our clients and problem solving.

Best-selling insurance product that you talk to most people about & why?     Group Medical Benefits.  Normally, when I speak with one of our group's employees, I am educating them on the best way they can use their insurance to benefit themselves and their family.

What product should most people have, but most don't?     Life Insurance

What books are you reading right now?     Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb

What would people be surprised to know about you?     I am shy.

What do you do when you're not selling insurance?     I like to read, relax and most of all spend time with my family.

What one word describes you?     Loyal

Who is your role model and what have you learned from him/her?     It depends on which time frame in my life.  I feel that choosing one person cuts out all the other role models in my life.  Sometimes it is an average person with a good attitude.  If I was forced to choose one person it would be Annie Sullivan, Helen Keller's teacher.  She taught me to never give up, even when there is hardly a chance for success.

What is your favorite quote?
Be true to your work, your word and your friend.
